COMMITTEE

Richard Bourne
Chairman
(Including Finance)

Richard joined Phoenix as one of the Founder Members in 2012 and took up his position as Chairman of the Inauguration committee together with responsibility for the company's finances. A family man, Richard's wife Angie and daughter Lisa are also key players within the company, Angie as fellow founder and Lisa on stage as well as offering her support to mentor some of the younger stage performers as they develop their skills during rehearsals. With his valuable Front of House and financial knowledge together with keen enthusiasm, he will help to steer the group with an ambition to achieve self financing status by April 2016.

Richard was a former founder member of a local Pantomime Company who performed at Perton Civic Centre each year before he left to take on bigger challenges. He helped to steer that company to huge financial success during its first five years and worked closely with producer Jan Cole who went on to win two NODA awards for her highly regarded pantomime productions before also leaving to work on more ambitious projects with Bilston Operatic and now Phoenix. Richard successfully managed to negotiate National Lottery funding for his past company and left them in a very strong financial position, a legacy he is most proud of.

He is also Treasurer of 'The Friends of the Grand' at the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton and is equally proud to have helped to play his part in raising substantial funds for the future of that wonderful theatre over the last few years.

With his keen eye and wide experience he will ensure that Phoenix offers excellent value for money for all who watch their future shows.

Angela Bourne
Ticket Secretary

Angela has been involved in ‘off stage’ theatre for nearly 10 years and was previously stage prompt for two local pantomime companies. She then moved into ‘properties’ and became a props mistress under the guidance of our producer Jan Cole.

Her new role as Ticket Secretary takes her to Front of House and she has enjoyed this new challenge immensely.

Angela is married to our chairman Richard and daughter Lisa also performs on stage. She is delighted to be working with, in what in her opinion is, the most talented and experienced team of theatre people she has worked with in local theatre having worked with many of them before.

Gillian Fenner
Child Licensing & Protection Officer

Since the age of five, Gill has been involved with amateur stage productions.

Having trained as a dancer with the Lytton School of Dance, Wolverhampton, she progressed to charity shows and later to pantomime productions in 1998.
Gill was initially an active member of the dancers in the chorus before moving on to take leading roles, usually performing as a pantomime animal! (Laughter is the best medicine especially when playing a pantomime cow!)

Being on stage is a refreshing change to Gill’s daytime role as Matron at the Wolverhampton Nuffield Hospital and now by joining Phoenix she will continue using her knowledge and experience as the Child Protection Officer to ensure the safety and security of all our junior cast.

Andrew Cole
Stage Manager

Andy has been involved in theatre now for over fifteen years, having been thrown in at the deep end when his wife (the producer of a pantomime company) was asked if he could help out backstage. He did so, and has been smitten ever since.

Andy has filled the role of "Stage Manager" for a number of other local companies including Bilston Operatic, Old Fallings Players and a few pantomime companies. As a Founding Member of Phoenix Theatre Company he looks forward to the continual success of this exciting venture. Andy felt it was the right time to move forward with bigger challenges so when he was approached and was asked to join the inauguration committee of phoenix he had no hesitation in signing up, as he knew that already on board were a multi talented group of people with all the necessary skills to make phoenix a premier amateur dramatics company.
